Recovery

If you have read through my stories you will know I was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) and Non Epileptic Attack Disorder (NEAD). The waiting lists for possible help was years so we were open to looking into anything private that may help.
An off chance conversation my husband had with one of his long time clients led us to a company called The Lightning Process.
I started researching it and it’s been around for 20 years worldwide. My way to describe it is like neuro rehabilitation. A way to build new neuro pathways in your brain to ignore/deal with the bad thoughts and concentrate more on the good thoughts. The course would last three days.
We left the research there until we’d had my follow up at neurology.

In March 2025 we looked into the Lightning Process again. What if it could help? Was it worth a try? How long do we keep chasing dreams for? But I kept coming back to the same thing… I’m 45, this can’t be it.
My hubby and I listened to the audiobook. I said if this is going to change my life, I'm scared and I need you to be in on it too. My hubby is my advocate in so many scenarios. My autistic brain doesn’t have clarity as fast as his does so I will bring him to appointments or have a call on speakerphone so he can mime to me as I'm talking. He was there for me, as always.
We booked in with her for the process to be done at her house. My home had become my trauma place. It is where my brain recognised that I experience pain there. I sit in my chair all day and look around my lounge. I needed to be out of that environment to give my brain a chance at recovery.

I had three sessions with the practitioner. The most being three hours long. After day one I was worried. I felt an overwhelming pressure that it HAD to work. There was so much riding on it. The second and third sessions I had my hubby in the room with me. If he hadn't seen it for himself I don't think he would have believed the change in me.
I'm happy to say it worked! I think differently. I AM different but I'm still me. I have my life back and my family have their wife and mum back too. My pain is lower and my mobility has improved.
I can't really tell you more about the process. If you think it might be for you then you'll find a link to their site at the bottom of my webpage. It's not for everyone but for me it was worth the gamble.
